Bunnies and Turtles
Play & Learn Pods
Small groups.
Growing minds.
Teen Mentors.

Designed for young learners in Pre-K through 1st grade, our Play and Learn Pods bring together small groups of 4–6 children for 80 minutes of playful, purposeful learning. Each group is led by trained high-school mentors with Jr. Mentors who bring energy, empathy, and enthusiasm to every moment. Groups are always supervised by a teacher and adult.
Each 90 minute play, 5 week pods will rotate through different sessions that build social, emotional, and academic skills.
-
Board & Card Games: Learning to focus, take turns, play fair, and celebrate wins (and losses) with kindness.
-
Numbers Time: Exploring patterns and problem-solving through abacus games, tangrams, and hands-on math fun.
-
Reading Time: Developing language and confidence by reading aloud, listening to stories, and playing with sounds and letters.

Each pod runs for 5 consecutive sessions, and families commit to attending all five to build consistency and community.
Pods are grouped by grade (Pre-K, K and 1st) with an equal mix of boys and girls.

Cost will be determined based on location (cost covers material and use of space)

Program costs that keep our sessions accessible to all families
These funds make it possible for us to host low-cost (and sometimes free) programs that strengthen families, spark creativity, and build confidence in the kids who need it most.
One of my favorite stories growing up was “The Tortoise and the Hare.”
I loved that story because I related to it so much. I was definitely the tortoise in my classes: quiet, observant, and slow to start… and I still am. I used to wish I could be more like the hare—fast, confident, and always ahead. But as time went on, I realized something important: everyone crosses the finish line.
Some of us hop, some of us crawl, but we all get there together.
